He voted to let criminal illegals back onto Iowa’s streets
In March 2025, Turek voted no on House File 946 — legislation requiring local law enforcement to comply with ICE detainer requests for individuals in the country illegally (passed 61–35, 3/26/25).
The bill better ensures criminal illegal aliens are deported — not released back into our communities. Turek voted against this commonsense bill, and supports amnesty for criminal illegal immigrants.

Josh Turek’s tax plan? Straight out of AOC’s playbook.
When Josh Turek talks taxes, he reveals just how progressive he really is. He sounds exactly like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Turek has repeatedly called for 1950s-era tax rates — an era when the top marginal rate hit 91%! He will raise taxes on EVERYONE!
This is more extreme of an argument than AOC has been making for years. On 60 Minutes in 2019, Ocasio-Cortez pointed to the same mid-century era to argue top tax rates should climb back to “as high as 60 or 70 percent.”
Same radical philosophy — one in a New York congressional seat, the other asking for your vote in Iowa.
Josh Turek wants you to believe he’s a common-sense moderate. But when he holds up the era of 91% tax rates as America’s golden age, he’s telling you exactly who he is: AOC’s tax agenda, under the guise of an Iowa moderate.

Turek Voted to Allow Kids to Change Their Gender Identity at School — WITHOUT PARENTAL NOTIFICATION
Josh Turek voted to allow minors to secretly change their gender identity at school…leaving their parents in the dark.
What kind of “moderate” supports secretly transitioning minors?

Josh Turek: not the moderate he claims to be.

He Pretends He’s Iowa’s Candidate. Chuck Schumer Picked Him.
VoteVets — funded by Chuck Schumer’s Senate Majority PAC — has spent $10 million on pro-Turek ads in Iowa, despite Turek not being a veteran.¹
Multiple outlets call him “the Schumer-backed candidate.” ²
He received $10,000 from Schumer’s leadership PAC in April. In a May debate, he said he “doesn’t know these folks,” referring to Schumer. ³
The same billionaires writing personal checks to Turek have separately given millions to Senate Majority PAC. ³
Turek says it’s grassroots. It’s all the same machine.
